Priorities

Striving for New Heights

Author Simon Sinek said, “Leadership is not about being in charge. Leadership is about looking after those in our charge.” The actions of good leaders inspire others to bring passion to their work and be the best versions of themselves. This creates a ripple effect within an organization of people lifting each other up. I feel that with our diverse population and pool of resources, our district has not reached its full potential. We are in need of leadership that will take steps to unify our community and elevate all. I look forward to being part of that new team.

Our Purpose: Educating Children

Students are the reason we are here. We need to shine the light back on them and make decisions to ensure they are the top priority. When we begin to plan where our funds, resources, and efforts are going, there should be a path back to student wellbeing and equitable learner outcomes.

Respect the Professionals

Teachers and site staff know a lot about creating safe educational spaces for children. They continue to develop skills within their content areas as well as practice best pedagogy. They are the frontline- we need to listen, consider their feedback, and provide support as needed.

Communication & Partnerships

We have common goals of a thriving community- a time where individuals, families, and businesses work together for the betterment of all. A space where transparent and timely communication are standard elements within these partnerships and compromises are not contentious, rather, opportunities to share ideas and resources.

Accountability

The Board provides a balance in power to the District by checking in on plans and making sure they're aligned with data driven goals with measurable outcomes before decisions come to fruition. If the District is set to make choices out of line with those goals, it is up to the Board to shift the trajectory and get things back on course.
